Calfresh/EBT Now Accepted at Farmers Markets

Did you know that you can purchase fresh, seasonal fruit and vegetables year around in many of your local farmers markets?

You now have the ability to use your Calfresh/EBT benefits (formerly known as food stamps) so that your family can buy local, healthy, tasty and fresh California produce at farmers markets. Additionally, if you need assistance to pay for food, you can apply for Calfresh benefits and it will not affect your immigration status.

The following list of farmers markets accept Calfresh/EBT benefits as payment:

  • Sacramento Central Market - 8th Street and W - open Sundays
  • Florin Farmers Market - in the Sears parking lot on Florin and 65th - open Thursdays
  • Laguna Gateway Farmers Market - Laguna Blvd & Big Horn Blvd (Elk Grove) - open Saturdays
  • Sunrise Market - located in the "park and ride" area of the light-rail station on Sunrise Blvd. (Rancho Cordova) - open Saturdays
